Join Oak City Clicks for our November Assignment Meetup and the final creative challenge of the Oak City Clicks season: The Season.
This open-ended assignment encourages members to combine everything they’ve learned throughout the year — composition, perspective, aperture, motion, and available light — into a photograph that captures the feeling of a season, moment, or personal story.
Rather than focusing on a single camera setting or technical concept, this month’s lesson explores intentional photography and creative storytelling. Members are encouraged to think beyond simply documenting a subject and instead create images that communicate mood, atmosphere, emotion, or meaning.
Together, we’ll discuss concepts including:
Mood and visual storytelling
Personal creative style
Editing choices and presentation
Color, tone, and atmosphere
Creating intentional photographs
We’ll review the assignment and discuss how photographers can use technical skills creatively to produce more meaningful and expressive images.
Members are encouraged to bring their cameras and participate in discussion about:
Favorite lessons from the season
Creative inspiration and artistic goals
Editing techniques and storytelling approaches
Photography projects they hope to pursue in the future
As a group, we’ll also plan a final seasonal workshop meetup where members can photograph together, celebrate the season, and reflect on the creative growth of the club throughout the year.
Assignment submissions for The Season are due by Monday, November 30 for Members’ Choice voting. The winning image will be announced during the December season finale meetup.
Whether you’re brand new to photography or have years of experience behind the camera, this final assignment is an opportunity to showcase your creativity, technical growth, and personal perspective through photography.
